Mountain biking has many fans. This means that in Álava there are plenty of routes with different degrees of difficulty that link together beautiful landscapes and places of cultural interest. Some of the more outstanding areas include: la Llanada, the environs of the reservoirs of Ullíbarri and Urrúnaga, the Valley of Zigoitia, the Mountains of Iturrieta and Valdegovía, etc.

The "Green Belt" that surrounds Vitoria-Gasteiz is another excellent alternative for cycling, offering interesting fauna and flora.

Many roads have special bike lanes, next to the main road lanes, to make cycling safer.
