Other types of festivals also exist in Álava, related with gastronomic culture, commerce and tradition. The “Gastro-nomic Societies of Álava” generally take part in these concentrations, offering tastings with the day’s star product.
Several are held during the course of the year:

In January, Amurrio celebrates the "Day of Txakoli" and the "Fair of San Antonio", related to agriculture and livestock farming.

Traditional Carnival

The "Fair of San Blas" tales place in February; in Alegría-Dulantzi it is based on crafts and local produce, and in Llodio a pig is raffled, sausages are made, and chestnuts eaten... The "Potato Fair" is held in Bóveda in the same month. "The Spring Honey Fair" takes place in Antoñana in May. June sees the “Day of the Goat” being celebrated in Baranbio, as part of its “Livestock and Crafts Fair".

Also in June, the “Day of the Horse” is held in Ondategi, with exhibitions, tastings, etc.

Zalduondo

Salinas de Añana is the protagonist in July with the “Salt Fair”. In the Montaña Alavesa region the “Day of the Mountain” is celebrated, with the sale of locally farmed products. A highlight of this month is the "Día del Blusa" in Vitoria-Gasteiz, with the exhibition and sale of livestock and garlic, and different popular activities, such as the presentation of the squads of “Blusas” that will take part in the "Fiestas de la Virgen Blanca".

The "Day of the Baserritarra" takes place in August in Llodio, with the exhibition and sale of locally farmed products and the Sheepdogs Contest in the afternoon.

In September, in the Montaña Alavesa, the “Day of the Horse” is celebrated with exhibitions, horse-riding trails, tastings, etc. And in the Rioja Alavesa, the “Wine Harvest Festival” is held, with the tasting and sale of wines.

A highlight in Artziniega is the “District Livestock Fair”, which has sheep and horse competitions as well as a Crafted Cheeses contest. Also organised in September, in Amurrio, is the "Artzain Eguna", which includes a livestock competition and a Sheepdogs contest.

Day of Baserritarra

Worthy of note in October is the "Artzai Gazta", in Vitoria-Gasteiz, with the Basque Country Shepherd’s Cheese contest. Also held in the capital in October is the "Organic Agriculture of Álava Fair".

In Salvatierra, the "Livestock and Agricultural Machinery Fair” is held with a provincial Shepherd’s Cheese contest and a craft exhibition. Pobes holds the "Álava Pinto Bean Fair", whilst in November, Santa Cruz de Campezo organises the “Agriculture, Livestock and Craft Fair” with its Gastronomy competition.

There are other markets, such as “The Market in the Mediaeval Quarter” in September, or the “Road Market” of the “Christmas Fair”, which tour several localities selling their products and enjoy a large visiting public.
