| Lagoons of Laguardia |
The lagoon complex of Laguardia is a protected biotope that serves as a habitat for a rich lagoon flora and fauna. Examples are the mallard, the grey heron, the swan and the great crested grebe, which build floating nests with the rushes and reeds that abound on the shores. The lagoons also serve as a migratory stopping place for species such as the dunlin.
Other places of ecological interest in the area are the
Forest of Navaridas and the Pine Forest of Dueñas, in Labraza.
