Catedral Nueva
Both religious and civil architecture in Vitoria-Gasteiz have been influenced since the early 20th century by the trends prevailing in Europe. One example is the New Cathedral, of neo-Gothic style, or the Chapel of El Prado, an example of neo-Byzantine architecture.

Worthy of mention too, is the magnificent Palacio Augusti, of European style, and housing the Fine Arts Museum.

Plaza de los Fueros (Vitoria-Gasteiz)

The implementation of its status as capital of the Basque Country, in the 1980s, was a decisive factor involved in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz changing its appearance.

New buildings such as the Europea Congresses Palace, the Palace of Justice, the Plaza de los Fueros de Chillida, or the CIVIC CENTRES, alternate with numerous green areas around the city.

Outside the city centre, another interesting point is the Miñano Technology Park, where a large number of companies work in functional buildings with modern aesthetics.

Also worthy of mention in the province are the buildings designed by famous architects for different WINERIES, such as the work of Santiago Calatrava for Ysios, that of Frank O'Gehry for Marqués del Riscal, Philippe Mazières for CVNE Laguardia and Iñaki Aspiazu for Bodegas Baigorri.
