Palace of Ajuria-Enea (Vitoria-Gasteiz)

If there is one thing that characterises traditional Basque style, it is its capacity to coexist in Álava with all types of architecture.

This happens with the beautiful country and rural houses that populate the entire territory with their different local variants.

The contribution of other contemporary styles can be appreciated in RENAISSANCE PALACES such as the Palace of Verástegui (Manurga); Lazarraga (Zalduondo) or that of the Velasco Family (Vitoria-Gasteiz).

Influences are less notable in the TOWER-HOUSES, as can be seen in that of Zubiete (Llanteno) and Negorta (Zuaza).

But the traits are especially notable in the PALACES WITH NEOCLASSICAL INFLUENCES: Otazu (Zurbano) and Ajuria-Enea, headquarters of the Presidency of the Basque Government in Vitoria-Gasteiz
