The exclusive shops of the Medieval Quarter will help you to discover the excellent work of our craftsmen and women. You will find items made from wood such as the traditional "kutxas" –chests, in Basque -, and carved musical instruments with a wealth of details, as well as silverware and traditional Basque pottery. You will also find the famous Fournier playing cards and antiques of singular beauty. If you are attracted by the world of gastronomy, in our shops you will find some of our most select products, such as the wines of the Rioja Alavesa, Idiazabal cheese or “txakoli”, all of which are protected by their respective Appellations d’Origine.

In the Centre and the modern part of the city, you will be attracted by the windows of our cake shops, some of which were established more than 100 years old: "vasquitos y nesquitas", truffles, traditional nougart, "goxuas", crystallised fruit, Gasteiz cake... Irresistible!

We recommend you to visit the Santa Bárbara market, located in the heart of the city, where you will find a wide range of perishable goods. More than 40 professionals offer you the most select foods.

If you want to renew your wardrobe or simply treat yourself to something special, you don’t have to travel far because in this area you will find all the well-known brand names in the world of fashion, accessories, jewellery and perfumery.
