August 4-9. Festivals of the Virgen Blanca, patron saint of Vitoria-Gasteiz
The descent of the figure of "Celedón" from the Tower of the Church of San Miguel across the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca, marks the beginning of six days of wild celebrations in the capital of Alava. Religious ceremonies, music, fireworks, concerts, sports and bullfighting all form part of a full programme of activities for all tastes and ages.
